Hello out there….do your businesses in town support each other when there is an open house, fundraiser, or event..?   Just checking. I think we could improve on that in our town, and would like to find out what the secret is !

You think you have to work hard?

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Read about hard work in the “Memories of a Bootlegger’s Daughter”, a book published by 91 yr.old Leona Pietz, from Parkston, SD.  She will be at the Art & Antique Gallery in Tyndall on Saturday, the 27 of Sept. from 9:30 am- 12:00pm to greet people and sign her book, which will be available at the regular price that day.

It is an amazing account of darn hard work, hard times, and how she helped her Dad with the bootlegging business ( during Prohibition in the 1930″s) so that the family could afford to live.   The books will hopefully be available on consignment at the Gallery thereafter, if there are any left!  Come for coffee and greet this interesting lady.  The book has already sparked some interesting conversations!
